In today's world of volatile fiat currency, investing in physical assets is a sensible and necessary part of any strategic investment portfolio. Gold, Silver and other precious metals have been very attractive for investors to bypass the inflation that inevitably reduces the value of their cash in hand. Land and property are also attractive to invest in but often has a high bar for many investors to own a complete property.
All commodity markets can be volatile for inexperienced investors but there is one market where the enthusiast knows when they have a bargain, quality classic cars is that market. Additionally, it is well known that the current macro classic market is in a dip at the moment, with some of the best brands and desirable models seeing significant drops in value.
Take an E-type Jaguar for example, if you can find a good one for £35,000 you are potentially getting a car that was worth £70,000 just two years ago. Markets go up and down as we have already noted but add the fact that it is desirable for the UK government to devalue Sterling, in-order to manage debt and encourage exports then inflation is likely to reduce your buying power in future. An E-type is an E-type at the end of the day and if your £ is worth less £35,000 is going to be very attractive to international buyers. Our view is that UK customers could buy an asset now before currency challenges appear and then take advantage when international buyers come looking for a bargain. In the meantime, UK or International buyers can take advantage and get the enjoyment of a classic car now rather than getting a warm feeling looking at a vault inventory that does nothing.
Area 51 can help international UK or International buyers find a car, assess a car against records and then transport or store your new car if you purchase it. International buyers could potentially store a car without ever importing it if they wish.
